William Perrin Sutherland, age 79, passed away on April 15, 2012 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on June 30, 1932 in Meridian, Mississippi to William Alexander Sutherland Jr and Maude Williams Perrin Sutherland. He married Louise Parker on April 2, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee. They met at Vanderbilt University where William graduated. William served 28 years in the US Navy and retired as a Commander. In the service William visited both the North and South Pole and served most of his career on nuclear submarines. After retiring from the service they moved to Henderson, Nevada in 2001. William was a member of the Military Officers Association. He had a great love for dogs and supported the Boston Terrier Rescue.

Bill is survived by his wife Lou of Henderson, Nevada; two daughters, Sharon Austin of Baltimore, Maryland, Lynne Kourtidis of Henderson, Nevada. William will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice if you wish. Bill loved to donate to military and veterans organizations. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Boulder City Family Mortuary.
