Chet lived a full life and touched the lives of many. During the time I was head of the Audio-Visual Section of the World Tapes For Education Library, as a part of World Tapes For Education, Chet and I worked together on various projects and became friends in the process. We also co-authored one published article. I visited him a few times and lastly at his home near Boulder, Colorado. He made his mark in life and will be missed.

The world will be a sadder place without Chet Williams. I'd known him from the 1970s. He was the Happy Warrior of Higher Education and of the Environment. Chet was 90%-plus cheerful. He was an officer, including president, of Friends United for a Safe Environment (FUSE) for years here in Texarkana. So I came to know him well. We made a number of trips together on environmental issues_to Austin, Dallas, Baton Rouge, St. Louis, etc._and he was always a pleasant, lively companion. He took his duties seriously but always, when appropriate, with fun. Even though he lived a long and useful life, it boggles the mind to realize what a packed life it was! Never a dull moment.
All of us in FUSE will especially mourn him, and I'll commemorate his life and service when we meet Tuesday. Our sympathy to the family. We'll miss him, too..

Chet, you lived a remarkable life. I appreciated your dedication to FUSE (Friends United for a Safe Environment) in Texarkana. I'm sure you have touched many people in a positive way in your long, productive life. To the family, you will have great memories, but I know you will miss him. My condolences.

It is with great sadness I say goodbye to my 98 year old stepfather, Chester Spring Williams who took me and my special needs sister in when I was 12. The house was full of laughter, NPR radio, music, and stories. I loved hearing how you met Eleanor Roosevelt on the train from Dartmouth w a trunk full of laundry to be done. But most of all I thank you for the trip around the world at 15. You opened my eyes to different cultures, a love of travel, and a sense of adventure. Your bone playing, banjo-loving, harmonica melodies will be missed. I dare say heaven will be a bit livelier with you there.

The memories come flooding back....I was the new kid on the block and our offices were next door to each other... He shared his ideas, knowledge and humor. I treasure those memories. Beverly was also a dear friend. They made a fascinating couple....I will miss them both and treasure their memories.

I enjoyed playing at the Veteran'Home with Chet. He was an inspiration to us all at the Boulder City Sr. Center & the Veteran's Home. I wish I could have attended the services for him, but I will always remember his enthusiastic spirit! My condolences to his family members.

Chet was truly a loving and lovely man. When I t.hink of him, my heart is filled with warmth, and smiles always come to my face. All the memories I have of him are sweet, wonderful, positively funny, and super special.. I will forever remember his smiles, great personality, kindness, and that boyish giggles. He was truly a remarkable man. It was a great privilege and pleasure to have known this one of the kind man! He will be greatly missed.

I was good friends with fellow Wake Village teacher Beverly Williams. She and Chet were so much fun to be with. I really missed them when they moved to Nevada. They loved dogs as much as I did. They even had a puppy I bred they named Dali. Chet had so many interests that he was active in. He will be missed. I would like to hear from Jamie if possible. My prayers are with all of you.
