Lorraine Frances Landman Georgeson

Lorraine Frances Landman Georgeson passed away on March 10, 2018 in Boulder City, NV.  She was born January 22, 1924, in Port Angeles, WA. She was the third of seven children of John and Leah Mounier Landman. She spent her childhood in Sault Sainte-Marie, MI and Ogdensburg, NY. Upon the death of her father, the family relocated to Waverly, VA. She married Purnell Westbrook, Sr. in 1941. When Pearl Harbor was bombed, he enlisted in the Navy. He contracted TB in North Africa.

Lorraine graduated Summa Cum Laude from Springfield College in Springfield, MA and began her teaching career in VA. She moved to Boulder City, NV, in 1963, where she met and married Robert W. Georgeson in 1965. She attended UNLV for her graduate work and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi national honor society. Lorraine taught school in VA and NV.

Lorraine was active in The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Desert Chapter 22 and served as a Worthy Matron in 1973. She was Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of NV in 1982 and was then appointed as a committee member of the General Grand Chapter, OES, International. The following term she was appointed as Parliamentarian for General Grand Chapter. She was also active in the National Association of Parliamentarians in NV. She served as president for three units and as president of the State Association of Parliamentarians. She earned her rating as a Professional Registered Parliamentarian in the National Association of Parliamentarians. She also held the title of Kentucky Colonel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Purnell Westbrook SR and Robert W. Georgeson; son Purnell H. Westbrook JR; brothers Frederick J. and Claude J. Landman; and sisters Vivian L. Hall and Marjorie L. Blankenship. She is survived by her grandchildren Lori Westbrook (Dave Townsend) and Paul Westbrook (Gigi); great grandchildren Jeffrey and Michelle Townsend; sisters Dolores Bryant and Leah Geraldine Tubbs; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

There will be an Eastern Star service on Thursday March 22, 2018 at 11:00am at the Boulder City Masonic Lodge, 901 Arizona St. Boulder City, NV.  Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Boulder City Cemetery.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
