I first met Mary Elizabeth through our membership in the National League of American Pen Women and was privileged to enjoy her friendship via lunches and long talks for many years. Her many talents, purposeful life, and kindness serve as a role model for me. I will miss her!

My condolences to the family on your loss.. Though I knew ME only through our correspondence regarding poems of mine she published in Pegasus over the years, it was easy to tell how fine and discerning a writer she was and how kind and caring a person.

Mary Elizabeth was a friend and a mentor during the years I was honored to be included in Pegasus issues. She was an encourager and appreciator par excellence! I am better for knowing her.

ME was am incredible woman and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to travel with her, my mom and Ellie Kaiser to Spain and France for a month in 2000. That trip changed my life and opened my eyes to so many things. I saw her often when we lived in California and have missed her wit, her humor and her grace. Thank you for being you, ME.

What a wonderful life Mary Elizabeth enjoyed. I was privileged to enjoy her company, wit and adventures during our Book Group years. She certainly enriched my life!

ME was a beautiful person in every way...inside and out! Charming, gracious, intelligent, interesting and interested, she was a supremely gifted and generous friend and confidante. So very grateful to have known her and to have enjoyed the blessing of her friendship and love these past 15 years.

My sincere condolences to David, Johnny and Susie...and to all her family and the many, many friends who will miss her profoundly.

In love and gratitude for her long and fruitful life,
Elizabeth Herridge
