Sylvia was a tender and artful soul. She will be missed and always remembered as a beautiful caring person. We have paper cuttings and artworks of hers that we cherish. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to her sweet husband Ron and children and grandchildren.
Many fond memories and gratitude to Ron and Sylvia. Rest in peace, sweet soul...

Sylvia was my mother from my chosen brothers, Shawn, Chris, and Milo. She had a wonderful sense of humor that was the mark of her character. I could always make her laugh with either something funny I said or just with my crazy life which she enjoyed hearing about. She was an excellent listener.

Sylvia's wit was sharp. Often she would say something that would cut to the heart of a situation, and then a delayed laugh for those of us who got her humor would result. Chris, her No. 2 son, picked up this trait and has perfected it as have Shawn and Milo.

I knew Sylvia a long time, well before she let her hair go white in Minnesota. I knew her when she would cook on the stove at the Longmeadow Street house and we would feast at the table in their large kitchen. Sylvia loved to cook and her food was lovely and delicious.

The artist Sylvia was the one that was most comfortable in life, with watercolors in hand she could capture the beauty of a landscape or flower. I still have the paintings she gave me with her signature "chop."

My fondest memories are in 4th -10th grades when we grew up running around in our chaotic kid way and she was always patient with us. After high school, I lived with the family in Plymouth MN. Sylvia worked with paraplegics and quadriplegics to help them learn to paint and support themselves. She was a very giving person right to the end.

In her last days, she displayed her love of food, humor and beauty. Sylvia was those things and more. I will miss her, and yet I always have her in my heart. Thanks for being such a cool person.

My heart aches for Sylvia's family. She was so proud of everyone, told wonderful stories of days spent with children, grands and greats. I was fortunate to meet Sylvia when I joined the Nevada Watercolor Society. She was an inspiration to me all those who came in contact with her. If you wanted an idea, a task done or a recipe for good cookies, Sylvia gave it, did it and baked the cookies. I will remember her sweet smile and friendship. I will miss her.
