Jewellene Joyce (Adkins) Lankford

Jewellene Joyce Adkins Lankford, born November 21, 1940 in Ages, KY to the late Claude and Marie Adkins.  She passed away on August 30, 2018 in Kentucky surrounded by family. 

Joyce is preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Lankford Sr. to whom she was married 52 years.  Together they leave behind their children: Judy Lynn Lankford-Snyder of Wellington, KY, Robert Jr and Ivy Lankford of Priddy, TX, Richard and Hannah Lankford of Ore City, TX and Roger and Consuelo Lankford of Las Vegas, NV.

Bob and Joyce are also leaving their most precious gifts behind, their grandbabies: Heather Marie, Jessica “Jessie” Rose, Brooke Lynn, Arlis “Tony”, Emily Maria, Roger Keith Jr, AmmaBelle, Tiffani, Holly, Heather, Brittany, Robert III, Joshua, Kasie, Destiny and Sarah.  Their love story has continued on to the next generations with a dozen great grandkids and one great-great grandchild. 

Joyce is also preceded in death by sister Dorothy “Dot”, her brothers Silas William and Glenn.  She is survived by two sisters and three brothers.  Joyce was blessed with many fond memories and moments with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jewellene Joyce was the oldest surviving child which meant she had great responsibilities in helping her parents on the farm and also with her younger siblings.  She had amazing strength and a very strict work ethic.  She was saved and had a strong connection to her God.  Joyce never met a stranger and very few times was she ever seen without a smile.  She loved the desert, the heat, and all the rocks.  She also collected coins and her Bibles.  She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, Memaw, aunt, and most of all friend.  The family ask in lieu of flowers, make donations to your nearest homeless shelter.

Together forever and never forgotten.  Her and her beloved “Boyfriend” Bob have been reunited to be buried in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV on September 6, 2018 at 10:40 am.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
