Joan Ewing

Joan Ewing, age 86, passed away on April 8, 2018 in Boulder City, NV.  She was born on April 17, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Harriett and Leon Shields.  Joan married Robert Ewing on November 17, 1952 in Chicago, IL. 

Robert served in the US Coast Guard for 21 years which allowed Robert and Joan to travel and see the world.  Joan’s favorite places to live were Hawaii and California.  When Robert retired in 1976, they moved from California to Boulder City, NV.

Along with traveling, Joan loved to watch old movies and spend time with her friends at the Senior Center in Boulder City.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her favorite “hobby”; Joan loved to spend time with them.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; and siblings Vince, Mary, John, Frank, and Michael.  She is survived by three children Michael (Kathy), Robert (Marla), Patricia (Greg) Fisher; five grandchildren Joel, Megan, Lauren, Brooke, Brittany; two great grandchildren Peyton and Brielle; two siblings Alice and Tenny; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive BC, NV.  Interment will be on Monday May 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
