Mary Eleanor Betzler

Mary Eleanor Betzler, aged 97, passed away peacefully at her home December 16, 2018.  She was born October 11, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey to Charles and Eva Bartell.  Mary married Donald Betzler September 6, 1947 in Union, New Jersey.  After starting a family in New Jersey, Mary, Don and their family moved to Houston then Klein, Texas.  Followed by an early retirement, Mary and Don briefly lived in Colorado, and then moved to Boulder City 35 years ago.  Mary was a member of Faith Christian Church.  She often shared her fondness for poetry, reciting long poems, memorized in grammar school, with family, friends, and the Faith Christian congregation.

Mary loved and was loved by many.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Evelyn; brothers George, Raymond, and Charles; son Donald; and grandson Shane.  Mary is survived by her husband of 71 years Donald; daughter Pam (Dennis); three sons David (Paula), Douglas, Cy (Anna); three grandsons David, Chad (Jessica), and Chaisson; and three great grandchildren Shea, Enzo, and Carlie. 

Services are at Faith Christian Church on December 19, 2018 at 4:00 pm.  Mary will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on December 20, 2018 at 8:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Mary’s name to the charity of the donator’s choice.  Family and friends can sign an online guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
