Patricia Ann (Root) McGowan, age 68, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at home on August 28, 2017.  She was born on January 11, 1949 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania to Robert Root and Lois Brown.  Pat married David McGowan Jr. on August 29, 1998 in Elizabethtown, PA. In 2012, after they retired, they moved from Northern Nevada to the Las Vegas Valley to be near their grandkids.

Pat loved to travel and always took pictures of their adventures to share with her grandkids. She loved books, music, and art. She loved celebrating holidays with family, especially Christmas. Pat was a collector of limited edition plates and all different types of art. She also loved to drive around in her Mustang convertible.

Pat is preceded in death by her father, Robert Root, and brother James Root.  She is survived by her mother, Lois Brown, her loving husband David McGowan Jr., five step children Kristina, Angela, Curtis, Cynthia, Theresa, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

A private memorial will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 2, 2017 to celebrate the life of our beloved Pat. Additional services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
