He was a great teacher. I remember many of the lessons he gave me at his home. I also remember being so impressed to hear him singing and playing "When You're Smiling" in historic Old Sacramento. I knew he could play masterfully, but I didn't know he could sing before that day! It blew me away! His voice was so full of character and joy. So many great memories of him. I remember he invited me to his studio album session, and the Jazz DJ from Capitol Public Radio made it a point to drop in for a few takes. He was so well-respected in Sacramento. I miss him, and I'll continue to think of him when I play, and to be grateful to have known him.

Thank you Mr. Fazio. You introduced me to the piano and gave piano lessons at Challenger School in Las Vegas in second grade.

I remember Dick from music classes at the UofA way back in the 70’s. Lost touch over the years. He knew his way around a keyboard and he taught me a few things I still remember. His name popped into my head today while I was thinking about music. My condolences on his passing.

I met Dick when I worked in the theater. Southern Arizona Light Opera Company. I was on the stage, he was in the pit! For a time, he played piano at The Meeting Place on Grant Road. The restaurant was owned by Larry Greenberg, Herb Greene’s brother. I spent some time there, taking the mic. Good times. Thank you so much for playing for me.... Rest well, Dick....

Marge...
I just read about Dick and his passing away. It has been a long time, since we have seen each other, but I wanted to reach out and tell you how sorry I am for your loss. You took a chance on a new high school Grad at Waldenbooks and you turned out to be a huge influence in my life and helped me to be the person I am today. I thank you for that and wish I could do something for you as you go through this time in your life. Take care and know you are thought of often..

I worked at Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier during the same years Dick was there. He was a very talented musician, entertaining both guests and employees. He was also a very interesting guy, and fun to talk to. I will think of him when I visit Two Medicine Lake. It is the resting place of many memorable folks, and is a fitting place for him.

What an incredible talented man. Dick was so generous and kind to all who crossed his path. He played the piano for so many conventions and weddings and special events for my company. I was delighted that we had a surprise meeting at a restaurant in Boulder City and I met his family and had so much fun catching up. I will hold wonderful memories of Dick till we all meet again Rest in peace, dear friend.

Faz is remembered fondly from his time in Montana and for being a creator of the Flathead Valley Jazz Society. He was a master pianist, and memories of his playing at 1st Ave. West in the 80's are wonderful. We mourn the passing of a fine musician. Godspeed, Faz.

Faz, you were humorous virtually all the time, including humor in your playing. Many good times we had in Tucson. Well done! Play on!

Margie, I know you will miss Dick, but we all know he is in a better place now. I will miss taking him a hot fudge sundae every Saturday and will think of him whenever I pass a Dairy Queen.

Dear Marge
Memories, and we have plenty, of times at First Avenue West, the Jazz Festival, listening to Fazio and Pete. Meeting you at Waldens Books. Good memories. Dicks talent on the piano we long to hear again. Times have changed,, jazz isn't so much in the Flathead. Thank you both for the joy you brought to us and many of us oldsters. And to you and Matt as you transit into a life without Dick nearby. Peace in friendship, and thanks

I met Dick when we were in our freshman year of Ithsca college and so enjoyed hearing him play the piano and singing in the quartet at that time. Only wish I could have seen him play in Boulder City, all those years we camped on Lake Mead. He was intensely talented.
