Obituary

A.G. Henry, Jr. was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on February 14, 1943, and passed away at the Veterans Home in Boulder City, on February 16, 2022.  He was the only child of Arlie G. Henry, Sr., and Lorada Elizabeth Jones.

 

A.G.’s early years were spent in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  He attended Ardmore High School and completed at Rancho High School, Las Vegas.  After high school he attended Oklahoma State University, receiving his BS in Business.   Later he attended Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington, and Executive Program for Organizational Change at Stanford University for CEO’s.

 

After A.G. finished college, he served in the Army and spent one year in Nha Trang, Viet Nam as a First Lieutenant.  While serving in Viet Nam, he received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service, National Defense Service, Aircraft Crewman Badge from USAF.

 

On January 20, 1968, he married Marietta Lorusso.  They were blissfully married for 54 years.

 

A.G. worked in the banking industry for 40 years in Las Vegas.   He started at Bank of Nevada. In his career he also worked at numerous Las Vegas based banks, and retired from Nevada State Bank as a member of the senior management team.   A.G. was very generous with his time and helped many in the banking profession and was instrumental in mentoring future executives in the banking industry. 

 

In A.G.’s pastime he enjoyed various activities with his family, namely: golf, traveling, boating at Lake Mead, and Oklahoma University Football.

 

He is survived by his wife, Marietta, son Brian G. Henry (Jennifer), daughter Michelle Padian (Billy), Arn Flatt, stepbrother, Yreka, CA,  Aunt Terry Stremus, Penndel, PA, cousins in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Nebraska and Pennsylvania.

 

Services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 commencing at 12:40PM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com .
