Alan Stevens Obituary

Alan Douglas Stevens “Big Al”, age 71, of Boulder City, NV passed away on March 16th, 2022, peacefully with his family at his side. He was born in Huntington Park, California on December 1st, 1950.

Alan was a true southern California surfer; surfing was his passion along with motocross and desert racing on his dirt bike. He was an accomplished athlete in track and football, he still holds records to this day. Alan was extremely gifted and talented in many areas. One of his talents he carried with him from his younger years to his last was his love and joy for painting and putting his visons and thoughts on canvas for others to enjoy.

Alan moved to Boulder City, Nevada in May of 1977 from Huntington Beach. He continued working for Lucky Stores as a meat manager and butcher. Soon after in 1982 he met the true love of his life, Carri. Alan knew how special she was, and he proposed two weeks later. September 18th this year would have been their 40th wedding anniversary. In 1984 Alan began working for a meat plant called Best Sausage, years later he left in 1995 which was one year after the purchase of their restaurant in 1994, called The Coffee Cup Café. Alan and his wife Carri made that leap of faith and were not only the prime example of husband and wife but also remarkable business partners and created such a captivating environment with great food and service that it soon became and remains quite a successful family ran business with their two grown children Lindsay and Terry Stevens currently running the restaurant.

Alan was a family man through and through. He enjoyed boating, camping, water skiing, surfing, paddle boarding, and riding his Harley with his friends and with the Hamsters USA motorcycle group, having BBQs and taco parties were all things he enjoyed so much. One of his most recent favorites was riding his E-bike uptown to The Coffee Cup to mingle with his customers & check on his staff and make sure everything was ok. Making memories and enjoying life with his friends and family was always priority to him, so many memories made and will forever be cherished.

Alan will be remembered as such a strong, determined, kindhearted, loving, devoted, stubborn and very thoughtful man. He had the fight in him to conquer anything he put his mind to.

His passing is preceded by his father Harry Stevens Jr. from Detroit, Michigan and his mother Marilynn Jeanine Stevens from Omaha, Nebraska as well as his sister Janet Jeanine Stevens. The oldest of four children, he is survived by his two brothers, Richard (Rick) Stevens and Russell (Russ) Stevens.

Alan is survived by his devoted, caring, and loving wife Carri Stevens and his ever so loving and grateful children Lindsay Stevens, Terry Stevens, Mark Stevens and Josh Martin as well as the light of Alans life, his grandchildren Cruz, Kyra, Kailea & Julianne who all absolutely adored their Papa Stevens.

Alan Stevens will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends. He wanted nothing more than a fun party, so a celebration of life will be held most likely the end of April. An announcement will be made when we have more details.

As Al would say, “Ramble On.”
