Betty Jean White

Betty Jean White, 89, passed peacefully on February 20, 2019. Betty was born on February 16, 1930 in Kennedale, Texas to Geneva Billingsly & Alvis Brown. Betty married Victor Early White on March 25, 1946. She spent the early years of her marriage the wife of a military man (3 years Army, 21 years Navy, a Pearl Harbor survivor & veteran of WW 2 & the Korean War). She traveled in military relocations from Florida, Washington & California. Ultimately settling in Torrance, California where she raised her daughter Vickie near family & friends until the untimely death of her husband Vic on March 25, 1976. She subsequently moved on her own to Las Vegas, Nevada where she spent the remainder of her life.

Betty was strong willed, tenacious, & rich pioneer stock. She lived with Progressive Rheumatoid Arthritis, which she boldly fought the majority of her life. She always taught to do the right thing. She was an avid animal lover & blessed with many devoted family & friends. She was a true individual, of the greatest American generation.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Vic, sisters Carol & June, & brother Alvin. She is survived by her daughter Vickie (Donald) Hartlieb, grandchildren Jessica (Jeff) Canarelli, Sean Hartlieb, great grandchildren Alexandria, Kennedy, Leighton Canarelli, & many nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday March 3, 2019 from 12pm-2pm at Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV. Funeral services will be Monday March 4, 2019 at 10:40am, Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV.
