Deon Norman

Deon W Norman, age 91, of Boulder City, NV passed away on April 25, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born in Salt Lake City, UT on October 9, 1930 to John Richard Williams and Pearl Record Williams.  She graduated from Cedar City, UT.  She married Leonard Norman on October 15, 1950 in Cedar City, UT.  They moved to Boulder City from Santa Barbara, CA in 1960.

Deon went to beauty school and learned to do hair.  She was a Telephone Operator for 15 years and retired from Centel in Las Vegas as an engineer but spent most of her working years raising her two sons.  She also helped her husband with his conventions in Las Vegas.  They would head up the SAROC (Sahara Amateur Radio Operator Convention) Convention every year. Deon also enjoyed gardening, doing genealogy, computers and volunteering.  She volunteered with the Boulder City Hospital, Boulder City Senior Center and as a C-Cop.  Deon was an amateur author and enjoyed writing short stories.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities.

Deon is survived by a son John (Lora) Norman; a brother Dale (JoAnn) Williams, six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Norman, a son Charles Norman; a brother JR Williams, a grandchild Jason Norman; two great grandchildren Jacob and Ripley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 9:00 am to 9:45 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 916 5th Street, Boulder City.  Funeral service will start at 10:00 am with burial to follow at the Boulder City Cemetery.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
