George Harvey Fletcher

George Harvey Fletcher was born on October 31, 1948 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, he passed away January 17, 2020.  George, was one of eight children born to Allan and Beatrice Fletcher. He was raised in Trafford (Level Green), Pennsylvania. He graduated  Penn Trafford High School in 1966 and joined the Navy that same year. George and Jenny were married in Illinois on November 8, 1969. In 1971 George graduated Electronics Institutes in Pittsburgh, PA and was hired by Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard, MA. He worked as a field engineer for Digital (Compaq, Hewlett Packard) for 30 years.

George loved to play golf, watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play, was a navigator in the Silver State Classic Challenge in Ely-Las Vegas, NV and worked as a starter at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, NV.  He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grand kids.

George is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Jenny) of 50 years, his children: Angela (Rob) Nixon, Wade (Denise) and Brock (Merissa). He had six grandchildren: Carter (Wade), Riley (Wade), Kyle (Angela), Jared (Angela), Leah (Angela) and Ridge (Brock).

George had a great sense of humor and always had a joke or story to tell. To know him was to love him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and the many who loved him.

Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Boulder City, NV on January 28, 2020 at 10:30 am, followed by a lunch in the church hall. At 1:20 pm, a military service and burial will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boulder Dam Credit Union: account # 806966009. The monies will then be sent to Comprehensive Cancer Center to pay forward medical expenses for other cancer patients, as he so graciously received.
