George Anthony (JR) Penn

George Anthony Penn Jr., age 81, of Henderson, NV passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021 in Henderson, NV.  He was born on October 26, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to George Anthony Penn and Suzanne Agnes Benanti Penn. George married Cynthia Bonney on July 12, 1980 in Hermosa Beach, CA. They later moved to Henderson from the South Bay area of Los Angeles, California in 2017.

George was a man of strong faith and a devoted Catholic. While in California he would attend Mass daily and help out at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach, CA. He loved to bake his “famous chocolate chip cookies” to share with friends and family. He also enjoyed watching sports, gardening, going to car shows to admire the classic cars and in his younger years was an avid sailor. He always looked forward to his annual family vacation to Catalina where he enjoyed getting together with old friends and catching up over a gin and tonic or two.

George is survived by his wife Cynthia Penn; daughter Nicole (Billy) Spence; two sisters Mary (Roy) Medlin, Helen Sennewald; and grandson Liam Spence.
