James Harold Hutchings

James Harold Hutchings of Henderson, NV passed away on February 22, 2021 at home surrounded by family.  He was born on March 3, 1943 in North Hollywood, CA to Mervin and Marvel Hutchings.  He married Diane Lynn Cowie on August 25, 1990 at their home in Saugus, California.  They moved to the Las Vegas Valley from Southern California in 1991 living in Boulder City and Henderson. 

James was a man of strong faith, being a member at St Paul The Apostle Orthodox Church.  He was always tinkering with his hands either woodworking or working on other projects.  He enjoyed being in the yard and working outdoors.  He worked the majority of his career in aerospace and loved rockets and jets. The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird being his favorite.

being his favorite.  He was an avid fisherman.  He was a fan of Westerns and anything with Chuck Norris or Clint Eastwood in it.  Football was another thing he enjoyed watching especially the Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys.

James is survived by his wife Diane Hutchings; three daughters from a first marriage Sheryl (Fred) Bell, Kathy (Mike) Suhr, Jennifer Toledo; step son  Christopher (Anastasia) Barton; a brother William (Bonnie) Hutchings; a sister Shirley Pearce; six grandchildren Kaela, Matthew, Caroline, Benjamin, Ashley and Raylan.

Funeral services will be held on March 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at St Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church 5400 Annie Oakley Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89120.  Burial will follow the service at the Boulder City Cemetery.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
