James Phillips Obituary

James D. Phillips 50 year resident of Boulder City passed away on August 17, 2020.  James was born October 28, 1942 in Denver, Colorado.  He married his High School sweetheart, Barbara Eggleston in 1964. James and Barbara moved to Boulder City in 1970. Here they raised four children, all of whom attended school in Boulder City from kindergarten through high school graduation. James and Barbara shared a very happy life for 55 years.

                James worked in the gaming industry for 35 years.  His first job was dealing craps at the Mint in 1970.  James made many friends throughout his career.  He especially loved working at the Desert Inn.  He worked at the DI for 21 years until it’s closing in 2000.  James retired as a floor supervisor at the Monte Carlo in 2005.

                James enjoyed golf and building and flying remote control planes. He belonged to the EV Flyers an RC flying club.  James had a great sense of humor and enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen.

                James is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Kim (Jeff) Stubitz, Tracy (Chris) Garrett, Kelly (Eric) Reinke; son Justin (Melanie) Phillips; Grandchildren Joe, Brittany, Cole, Erica, Dylan, Taylor, Nathan, Sydney, Logan and Laci; sisters Judy Edmondson and Pam Phillips and great grandchildren Claire, Chloe and Maxwell.
