Janice Whitlock Obituary

Janice Jocelyn Whitlock was born on January 28, 1932 in Houston, Texas to the parents of Benjamin and Beatrice Wilson.

Janice was raised in Houston were she received her education. She accepted Christ at an early age. While in Houston Janice met and married Alvin Blakenship (preceded her in death). Unto this union 2 children were born Janice Allen and Alvia Blankenship.

Janice later moved to Berkeley, California where she met James Whitlock and they married in 1958.

Janice was a kind & loving woman and she loved her family dearly. She found joy in reading and gardening. She worked at the Internal Revenue Services for over 20 years before retiring. After retiring she worked at H&R Block.

Precious memories shall be forever cherished by her daughters Janice and Alvia. Her grandchildren Malakia, Stancy (preceded her in death), Sharessse, Ivan and Daron. Great-Grandchildren Maurice, Jevon, Jewaya, De’Maria, Brian, Quazauy, Rojane, Jeziaha, Keomi, Nevaeh, Sharnell, Izauya’, Daron Jr., Tre’Shawn, Janiala, & Jalayia. A host of Great-Grandchildren. Nieces, Nephews & friends.
