Joseph A Amey Jr

Joseph Albert Amey Jr age 78, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on February 18, 2022 at the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City.  He was born in St Louis, MO and grew up there and Detroit, MI.  He was baptized in the Lutheran Church.  After graduating high-school he served his country as a Marine and during the Vietnam War.  After his honorable service he lived in Las Vegas and began his family. 

Joseph worked in the casinos and was a floor supervisor and pit boss at the time of his retirement.  He worked for a number of casinos including the: The Dunes Casino, The Mirage, and Aria Casino.  Joseph enjoyed travel and loved to ride his Harley Davidson.

Joseph is survived by a daughter Anita (Deven) Wagner; a son Joe (Farrah) Amey; a brother Theodore Amey; a sister Elizabeth Maurath-Amey; four grandchildren Gunnar (Ariah) Amey, Kai Wagner, Kiana Wagner, Antonio Amey and a great grandchild Layla Amey.

Celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 25th at 8:40 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City, NV.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to “Vets for Action” Tim Kuntz, 7778 Sagamore Bay Court, Las Vegas, NV 89179 in memory of Joseph Amey Jr.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com.
