Richard Scott Shaw

We are saddened at the sudden passing of Richard Scott Shaw, age 55, of Henderson, NV on February 19, 2021.  He was born on September 9, 1965 in Nephi, UT to Scott M Shaw and Kathleen Lawson Shaw.  At the age of two the family moved to Henderson, NV.  Richard married Mary Kathryn Murphy on April 6, 1996 in Henderson, NV.   

Richard’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with the loves of his life, his wife and girls at the motocross track and the beach. Richard loved riding his dirt bike and was a part of the Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada and the Southern Nevada Desert Racers. Riding was more than a hobby it was his passion. Riding came natural to Rich, as if he were born on a bike; this is now a talent that is seen running through the family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

When Richard, affectionately known as Richie or Uncle Richie was around his friends and family his laughter and smile lit up the moment. Known for his quick wit and endless shenanigans, there was never a person he met that didn’t adore him.

Richard is survived by his parents Scott and Kathleen Shaw, his wife Mary Shaw; two daughters Kaitlyn Shaw, Kristin Shaw; a brother Waylon Shaw; two sisters Billie Jo Radford, Tiffney Shaw and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Arrowhead Chapel on 801 Arrowhead Trail Henderson, NV 89015 on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
