He is preceded in his death by his father, James R. Trummell; his mother, Lorene Trummell; his brother, Kenneth Trummell; and two grandchildren Teagan and Christopher.
Lovingly referred to as Ron, Sarge, Lieutenant, Dad, "Papa", and Reverend, Pastor Ron practiced what he preached...a life of service to God, his Country, his family, and his community. Born October 13,
1948, in Alameda, CA and raised in the Bay Area, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy, served the State of Nevada as a Sergeant with the Nevada Highway Patrol, served Nye County as a Lieutenant and Chaplin with the Sherriff's Office, and Member of the Nye County School Board. However, from 1985 until the time of his death, Ron faithfully followed his true calling...preaching and teaching the word of God.
Ron gave up his career with the Highway Patrol to move his family to Pahrump, NV and begin his life of Ministry at the First Southern Baptist Church. For 37 years, Ron was regarded for his ability to share relatable personal stories, bring laughter and joy to others, and consistently and passionately share the word of God with all those who would listen. Pastor Ron was honored to have presided over countless marriages, funerals, baby dedications, and serve as the President of the Nevada Baptist Convention. During his 31-year tenure as senior Pastor for First Southern Baptist Church Pahrump, Ron ordained several pastors, performed hundreds of baptisms, ministered to thousands of people, and planted the seeds of salvation to the multitudes,
Ron has left behind an amazing legacy. We will be honoring his life of service on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at First Southern Baptist Church in Pahrump. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested you consider donating to dementia and Alzheimer's disease research at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health at https://givenv.ccf.org/RonTrummell.
