Shelia Ruth Thomas

Shelia Ruth Thomas, age 73 of Henderson NV, passed away on Friday, February 28, surrounded by family and loved ones. Her wishes were not for the family to grieve over her loss, but to celebrate her life.

In honor of her, a Celebration of Life ceremony took place Saturday the 28th at the home of her daughter Khristina Thomas-Suarez and son in law, Anders Suarez. Family and close friends gathered to honor Shelia’s life, the love she generously spread to everyone she met, her kind words and loving spirit.

Shelia was born in Genesee County, Michigan to Eugene and Marguarette Stone on August 19, 1946. She is survived by her three siblings, Doug Stone, Janie Taubitz and husband Rick, And Priscilla Stone, and Shelia’s two children; daughter and son in law Khristina and Anders Suarez, and son Robert Thomas, Jr. and his wife Starr. Grandchildren Alyssandra Suarez, Isabella Suarez, Michael Suarez and his wife Victoria, Ciera Thomas, Brexton Thomas, Braiden Thomas, Paige Jordan and Great Granddaughter Nevaeh Jordan.

Shelia retired to Henderson in 2013 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She lived her life for her family and found true joy in watching them grow and sharing her life, love and faith with them. One of her favorite bible verses was the 23rd Psalm, and it brings great comfort to her family knowing that she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, and because of God’s promise we will see her again.
