William Laymon
Obituary
William Laymon, 79, passed and went to be with the Lord on December 15th, 2022. William was born on December 23rd, 1942 to Edward and Stella Laymon in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marlene Laymon.
William was married to his wife Marlene almost 50 years and raised three children in North Platte, Nebraska. William is survived by his children Lisa Laymon, Shelly Laymon and Billy Laymon. In addition, William has six grandchildren: Michael, Alexa, Jamie, Christian, Kodee and Howie. Along with six great grandchildren: James, Tatlan, Dominic, Ashton, Dexter and Nova.
William joined the Army in 1959 as an Infantryman stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska and Fort Myer, Virginia assigned to the 3rd Infantry Regiment “Old Guard”. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1964 and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for almost 40 years as a Switchman. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved gardening, fishing, hiking, hunting and bird watching. William was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will truly be missed by those who knew him.
