Cheryl was a precious friend. I met her at our Las Cruces P.E.O. Meetings and learned t love her. She had a lovely smile that reflected her inner beauty.

I was stunned to learn of Cheryl's passing. I had met her as a young Chi Omega when she would bring Brian in his diaper along to the house. Later in life I had run into her at a shop in Mesilla and became "grown-up" friends, single moms getting together for margaritas and following each other over Facebook over the years. She was so funny and genuine and I was so excited when Gordon was born and heartbroken to hear about Cheryl's death soon after. I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Dear Matchett Family (Jake & LuLu),
I first met Cheryl when she worked at NMSU. I was a MA student in the anthropology department. She was always so kind, helpful, and encouraging with all of my academic endeavors. We quickly learned that we were both 'crazy dog people' and would often see each other and catch up at the dog park in Las Cruces. I left NMSU in 2010 and we have always kept in touch via FB. I am so very saddened by the news of her passing. My deepest condolences to you all. Please take comfort in knowing, Cheryl touched the lives of so many people. She was kind, thoughtful, and funny. She will truly be missed.

I am so very sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing. I remember meeting for the first time at the old dog park in Las cruces. She brought an adorable black silky ball of energy - Jake. Then later came Lulu and her wily ways. She was a lovely person and I enjoyed our many conversations and lunches over the years. My deepest condolences to the family.

I just read about Cheryl's passing. I am heartbroken. I got to know Cheryl in college in Chi Omega. We had such fun times. We reconnected several years ago on Facebook along with a lot of other ladies who shared Chi Omega. To Cheryl's family I hope that your memories will comfort you during this very difficult time. Rest In Peace sweet Cheryl, until we meet again.

To the Matchett family- My deepest condolences. Cheryl was an amazing woman and wonderful friend. I admired her so much and was so honored to have her for a friend. Her son was her pride and joy and I loved the antics of her dogs. She will be missed.
